The new Ozark Mountain Regional Public Water Authority which delivers Bull Shoals Lake water to towns and districts across Boone, Newton, and Searcy Counties is in trouble. As Jacqueline Froelich reports, several towns that signed on to the drinking water pact appear to be stricken by buyer’s remorse. In early May, Arkansas’s ban on same-sex marriage was struck down as unconstitutional by a state court. Hundreds of couples obtained wedding licenses before a stay was ordered by the Arkansas Supreme Court. Now a second lawsuit, filed in federal court, will soon be considered.
