The State of Vegetation In 2100
One researcher at the University of Arkansas has been taking a look at what would happen to the planet's surface vegetation if greenhouse gas emissions continue at their current rate through the end of the century.
Making New Airwaves
When the Federal Communications Commission opened up licensing opportunities for thousands of new independent low-power non-commercial FM radio stations in 2010, several dozen Arkansas groups applied. In northwest Arkansas, Fayetteville Community Radio appears to have made the cut. We meet Joe Newman, station manager, and volunteers Olivia Hines and Moshe Newmark.

8) Kreskin, famed "mentalist" during the height of the ESp craze on TV. (OK, we're stretching it...)

Revisiting the 1927 Mississippi River Flood Through Fiction
"Tilted World" by Tom Franklin and Beth Ann Fennelly, both University of Arkansas graduates, takes readers inside a different era,when Prohibition was big business and foot travel was as likely as horse or car travel in rural Mississippi. The two will read from their novel Friday evening at Nightbird Books in Fayetteville.

Eureka Springs Race for Mayor

For the first time in recent memory, six, count 'em, six candidates have filed for the position of Mayor of Eureka Springs -- population 2,300. The winner will replace current Mayor Dani Joy, who is not seeking re-election because she wishes to devote herself full time to her family's restaurant business. Jacqueline Froelich sorts through the list of contenders.
