Michael Dorcas, herpetologist and professor at Davidson College in North Carolina, will speak this afternoon at 4:00 in Room 604 of the Science Building on the University of Arkansas campus. One of his areas of expertise is the problem of invasive Burmese pythons in southern Florida.

The HBO documentary "Gasland," is a critique about America's burgeoning shale gas drilling industry. The film premiered at Sundance, last January, where it took the 2010 Sundance Special Jury Prize. Since then, writer and director Josh Fox has hosted public viewings of his film in places where shale gas drilling is occurring--including Arkansas.
