In response to an increasing homeless population, 7 Hills Homeless Center is increasing its education services by 66% and needs folding chairs for the classroom.A legislative Joint Performance Review Committee Meeting held yesterday in Little Rock addressed how a $4 million deficit could occur in the University of Arkansas' Advancement Division. Arkansas Lieutenant Governor Mark Darr yesterday was adamant that he would not resign in the face of a number of ethics violations, though some state legislators say that impeachment proceedings are likely to occur. The Sebastian County Quorum Court has laid preliminary plans for expanding the county's Emergency Medical Service headquarters in Greenwood. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics posts November jobless numbers for Northwest Arkansas and the Fort Smith metro areas. And, the U of A Women's Basketball Team makes it onto a Top-25 list.

And the Arkansas Department of Health is seeking about 100 former patients of a dentist who recently died. The ADH thinks that those patients may be at risk for contracting an infectious disease.

The Arkansas House is expected to vote on a proposal to expand Medicaid tomorrow, but even if the House passes the measure, a supermajority is required to fund the expansion.
